چکیده

The Spatial Data Infrastructure initiatives are now broadly developed and deployed. However, while plenty of tools use them, some tasks still complex to perform by non-expert users, such as finding, accessing, using their related OGC Web Services (OWS). One the main reasons for these challenges is associated with semantic heterogeneity within services. This entails a lack proper descriptions requires knowledge about data structure domain-specific query languages discover retrieve Semantic annotations OWS play crucial role in achieving interoperability addressing challenges. In this article we describe an approach enabling automatic generation Feature (WFS) at three request levels (GetCapabilities, DescribeFeatureType, GetFeature), which used generate graphs. uses various external services, ontological resources (POSM, DBpedia, GeoSPARQL, GeoNames, datos.ign.es vocabularies), bases (DBpedia datos.ign.es). Semi - Automatically Annotating Semantic Web Services ( Extended

The semantic Web Services vision requires that each service be annotated with semantic metadata. Various metadata languages (such as OWL-S (DAML-S Coalition 2003)) have been proposed to fill this “semantic gap”. However, manually creating such metadata is tedious and error-prone. Software engineers, accustomed to tools that automatically generate WSDL, might not want to invest the required effo...

ASSAM: A Tool for Semi-automatically Annotating Semantic Web Services

The vision of Semantic Web Services is to provide the means for fully automated discovery, composition and invocation of loosely coupled software components. One of the key efforts to address this “semantic gap” is the well-known OWL-S ontology [1]. However, software engineers who are developing Web Services usually do not think in terms of ontologies, but rather in terms of their programming t...

Models as web services using the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) Web Processing Service (WPS) standard

Environmental modeling often requires the use of multiple data sources, models, and analysis routines coupled into a workflow to answer a research question. Coupling these computational resources can be accomplished using various tools, each requiring the developer to follow a specific protocol to ensure that components are linkable. Despite these coupling tools, it is not always straight forwa...

Testing OGC Web Feature and Coverage Service performance: Towards efficient delivery of geospatial data

OGC Web Feature Service (WFS) and Web Coverage Service (WCS) specifications allow interoperable access to distributed geospatial data made available through spatial data infrastructures (SDIs). To ensure that a service is sufficiently responsive to fulfill users’ expectations and requirements, performance of services must be measured and monitored to track latencies, bottlenecks, and errors tha...

Automatically Annotating the ODP Web Taxonomy

In this paper we present the ideas and algorithms developed around our KeyGen Web Taxonomy Annotation engine. KeyGen annotates the Open Directory Project, also known as Dmoz, with meaningful and previously unknown keywords by utilizing domain knowledge extracted from the WWW. We present two algorithms: i) The PageParse Algorithm, which efficiently extracts keywords from Web Taxonomies using a c...
